who are we?
Love Local Food is a new social enterprise and not-for-profit business initiated by Emmas Bread, Shillingford Organics, West Town Farm and organicArts. We aim to have a positive effect on the communities that Love Local Food serves, and those who work for it. Any profits are returned to the business, which also offers educational opportunities about food, the environment and personal well-being, to all sectors of the community.
what are we doing?
We are a group of local farmers, producers passionate food lovers who propose to bring a new and simple way of shopping to Exeter and surrounding areas.
We operate a mobile shop which stops at fixed locations on its delivery routes and offers a good range of seasonal food and drink. Most of our produce is fresh, organic and local. Other products that are not available locally, such as tea are Fairtrade and ethical. Thanks to funding from awards for all we are conducting a trial to monitor demand in the Exeter area.
why?
We believe that good, healthy produce should be available to everyone and it does not need to be expensive. In Devon we grow a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruit, and produce excellent meat and dairy products. There are also many small, specialised food producers who, in order for their businesses to succeed, need local outlets.

We believe that using this model we can supply you with excellent produce at competitive prices and with all the benefits of paying a fair return to our local producers. The scale of our business means small producers have a chance to reach new customers directly, thus keeping the business within the local economy. Add to this the environmental benefits of minimal packaging, reduction in food miles and convenience for you and it all begins to make sense.
